We at “Buy Proud” proudly present to you a web site which promotes American made products.
The founders of this company are people who feel that the promotion of quality American goods is not only good for the economy by keeping Americans employed, but also a way by which everyone can contribute, even in a small way, to the benefit of all Americans.
Just to give you a short background story on why this site was created, we have to confess that we tried to look for a site that specialized in American made products, but we found them to be lacking in the real imaginative and high quality items that we were looking for.
We have searched, and keep searching for products that we feel are of high quality as well as being competitive in price, this combined with the American tradition of “satisfaction guaranteed”
"In order for America to remain truly competitive in a global economy, we must invest in our workforce to stimulate small business growth. Small businesses create two-thirds of all new jobs in this country.
The term “Made in USA” is also misleading as some items are made just assembled here, some use some components made here, some are all made here.
The Buy American Act requires that a product be manufactured in the U.S. of more than 50 percent U.S. parts to be considered Made in USA for government procurement purposes. For more information, review the Buy American Act at 41 U.S.C. §§ 10a-10c , the Federal Acquisition Regulations at 48 C.F.R. Part 25, and the Trade Agreements Act at 19 U.S.C. §§ 2501-2582
Product recalls--toys, pet food, vitamins--made many consumers aware that imported products may not be as subject to regulation and inspection as something made in the USA. We do not imply that imported products are inherently unsafe, just that these industries are not subjected to the manufacturing standards that American companies are subjected to.
As we are all aware, many articles as well as countless TV shows show the dangerous lead levels in toys imported from China, as well showing how many Chinese and other third country workers are exposed every day to dangerous working conditions as they make the products we buy; however, it is nearly impossible for shoppers to know the conditions under which goods are produced.
Buying American-made products offers some assurance that production is in accordance with U.S. labor laws and workplace safety regulations.
We at Buy Proud are committed to supplying value as well as quality to our customers, and we will also welcome your input in any suggestions you might have, from recommending a vendor to making a suggestion on how to improve our site.
America still is a great country, and if we adhere to some simple rules, like helping your neighbor, it will remain so.
